Walking Into the Fire

During last week on Thursday I was on my way through the airport in Edmonton to get to my gate for my flight to Atlanta. On my way to the gate I decided to stop by one of the restaurants and dine in. Unfortunately I was delayed getting a table as a disturbance took place near by. There an older man, who was intoxicated, acting aggressive, and being loud. His flight got delayed and he than through a sign at the gate employees. He was quickly tackled by one of the gate employees and pinned to the ground. As soon as I heard the yelling from the staff I swiftly walked over to the gate, noticing the situation was under control I than asked if the employee who pinned the man to the ground needed any assistance, he said no. However I made it know to him that I’ll be sitting near by until the rcmp arrive to detain the man. I stayed as calm as I could, opened palmed, controlled breathing under the adrenaline dump. Did I do the right thing by making myself known I can help?

  1. I think offering to help is always the right thing to do. And accepting their answer but staying close by was very decent, too!
