Let’s go Oilers

 The Edmonton Oilers have advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals! The last time the Oilers made an appearance in the finals was in 2006 against the Carolina Hurricanes. It has been over 30 years since a Canadian NHL team has won the Stanley Cup with the last team being the 1993 Montreal Canadians. Hockey is a huge part of my life. Playing the sport for almost a decade, it was a dream of mine to make it to the NHL when I was younger, I soon realized after a couple years that it was not happening. I have always been an Oilers fan, and always will be. It may not seem important to some but being able to watch your hometown team go one to win the conference championship and now compete for the hardest trophy in sports really means something.
