Alumni Wisdom

This Saturday I had a special Buisness seminar at on of our offices on the west end of the city. It was great, there were a lot of people there and everyone wanted to learn. Our special guest was Edmonton Eskimos alumni Joe Holliman (some of you now elks fans will know who this is). I’ll give a quick biography of Joe Holliman. Born in 1952 in Arkansas, Joe grew up picking cotton on a plantation for most of his childhood. When he was eight years old he heard the TV playing a football game where he than wanted to become a professional football player. Joe would come up to Edmonton to play for the than Edmonton Eskimos from 1976 to 1985 and win 6 grey cup championships. After Joes football career ended, he moved back to his home town where he than started in our company. As soon as our company got approved to start in Canada, Joe was the first agent in Edmonton with an office and all of our agents and offices go back to Joe and the sacrifices he made to achieve his goals. Joe told us all that we are born with everything given to us already to become the best we can be, but it’s our own choice to use what’s been given to us. It makes perfect sense too, if you have the opportunity to do something that is better for you, why would you not do it? Why wouldn’t you go to the gym when you have the time, go on that date, ask for that raise or promotion, make those sales calls, have those buisness meetings, and do what ever it takes to reach your goals.
