Board Breaking Progression
Today I practiced my board breaking in open training. Specifically the ridge hand and palm heel. I wasn’t able to break a board with the ridge hand, but I was able to with the palm heel. We figured out that for the palm heel I need the board to be vertical. For the ridge hand it all comes down to technique, the board is horizontal and you need perfect technique. You can’t force your way through the board with the ridge hand. I’ve tried and it sucks. I don’t know why but the ridge hand in board breaking for me has always been that thing that is hard to do but you just love doing it regardless of how much it hurts if you do it wrong. I think for me, working towards near perfection in this technique is exactly what I need as it will help me with all of my techniques.
